This Wednesday, our residents from The Springs and The Inn embarked on their first extraordinary outing of the year. At Watermark communities, we try to plan trips that shatter the traditional assumption of what seniors can do, which are what we call extraordinary outings. By doing this, we show our families, friends, and the world that seniors can do much more than we limit them to. On this particular trip, we went to see the Original Harlem Globetrotters play at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC. If that wasn’t enough, we also had a magic pass which allowed us to get up close and personal to the action. By using this pass, our residents got to meet the players and learn a few of their tricks! One of our residents, who is 100 years old even spun the ball on her finger! After getting to meet the players, we headed to our seats to watch the game. The Globetrotters were playing their arch nemesis the Washington Generals and put on an amazing show jam packed with amazing shots, aerial dunks, and amazing dance-offs and antics from members of the team. Our residents were taken aback by the amazing capabilities of the globetrotters and had a grand time. We hope to see them again soon!
